J. Shane Howard joined LEAP in June of 2005. Shane served as Senior Vice-President of Community Insurance (a subsidiary of Texas State Bank) for the previous two years where he focused on agency operations/management and provided commercial insurance and risk management for clients throughout Southeast Texas. Shane spent 7 years with Sentry Insurance managing sales teams in Springfield and St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Texas in 2003

Shane spent 6 ½ years with the US Air Force both active duty and as a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Missouri – St Louis. He is also a Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager with The National Alliance. He serves the community in various capacities through his participation in several organizations both political and charitable. Shane is married with 2 children.
