Michael D. Rose joined LEAP in early 2008. He is a 1995 engineering graduate of Texas A&M University with experience in engineering analysis, design, concept development, and condition assessment in support of offshore drilling operations.

Before attending Texas A&M University, Mr. Rose served aboard a US Navy P-3C aircraft as a member of a tactical anti-submarine warfare and maritime air patrol flight crew. He was highly decorated as for his service both in the air and on the ground, where he was charged with the training and evaluation of squadron sensor operators.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, Mr. Rose worked for Howard & Associates International as a staff consultant where he contributed to the development of an SOP manual for a Japanese offshore drilling company. He conducted extensive tubular stress analysis, designed load cells, valves and conducted research and development for a high torque tool joint that resulted in a patent.

Mike then went to work for Specter Instruments, a company that develops and distributes remote alarm notification software for the petroleum and waste water treatment industry. He oversaw the deployment of software on integrated SCADA networks and provided turnkey solutions to engineers and end users.

When he is not in his Leap Engineering office, Mike enjoys running the trails along his Austin area home and spending time with his wife and three sons.
