Lamar University Publicly Announces Plans for Environmental Learning Center

Lamar University, in association with the City of Beaumont, Lamar Institute of Technology (L.I.T.), the Big Thicket National Preserve, Region 5 Education Service Center, Stephen F. Austin University and others, publicly announced their plan for an Environmental Learning and Resource Center (ELC) on the Neches River.
Beaumont mayor, Guy Goodson was on hand to offer information and remarks along with several Lamar University, L.I.T., LEAP Engineering, and Big Thicket representatives.
Spearheading the effort to gain private funding, support, and ideas for the ELC is Dr. Richard Bothel of Lamar University.
